About STR8N UP
Over the last twenty years, I have been organizing and doing renovation projects in many homes of my friends and family. I found this to be very exhilarating and it became not only a hobby, but my passion. It wasn’t until 1993 when I purchased my first home and had the freedom to explore my visions. I found myself consumed in every aspect of do it yourself renovation projects to organizing, alphabetizing, color coordinating, and rearranging to create spatial room flows. I was hooked! In 2001, I purchased a 1980’s era condo in need of serious fixing up. After four months of redesign and renovations, I was finished. This is when I met my husband and was now moving into my third house which involved combining not only two households, but three because my husband also had all of his parents belongings stored in the house. We went through many phases of downsizing and after four very large garage sales, and much hard work and perseverance, we achieved a beautiful, organized home for us to enjoy. I found myself wanting to continue with my hobby but not knowing how to utilize my skills in a broader spectrum. It was then that I realized if I can enjoy doing what I do and somehow incorporate this type of work into my career life, I would be so blessed. I wanted to help others to achieve the same joy in their own homes. I can truly say "I love my job”!
My prior work experience had been preparing me in life for helping others to be more structured and organized and I just didn’t see the big picture until I decided I have to incorporate what I am passionate about into my daily work life. I had worked as a metallurgical engineer for eleven years and held office management positions including jobs in property management, purchasing and logistics and design for six years post engineering. All of my experience has helped me to understand the needs for structure and organization and time saving skills that can be implemented in one’s work and home life.
Many people struggle to balance their busy schedules, children, and households and find it difficult to get back on track. They find themselves overwhelmed with not enough time in one day to get the things done that they strive to and feel that their situation is past the point of return. My goal is to help with new solutions for creating a working environment that will create more time, more space and more freedom to enjoy the everyday wonders of life through gaining control of their work and home lives and leaving them with the skills to maintain those standards.
